The custom design of this client's pine veranda was to replace the existing one, while occupying the same space. We therefore had to rethink the structure and other elements so that they were well integrated into the house, while creating a new look. Additionally, the patio below also needed to be resurfaced in a maintenance-free material to prevent deterioration.
First, we offered Azek PVC from the Vintage range, English Walnut color for the patio. This material has the advantage of being maintenance-free, while resembling the natural look of wood. To match the pine veranda, Sansin's Espresso stain color is ideal. All the timberframe as well as the walls and the ceiling are in this color, with the exception of the rafters. They are Black Onyx from Sansin to give character to the veranda and make them stand out on the ceiling thanks to the contrast of these two shades.
Fixed mosquito nets close all openings to protect occupants from mosquitoes. However, they allow air to circulate through the veranda, which is very nice. Two standard screen doors provide entry and exit at each end. On the pool side, the walls are absent to leave a clear view of the water. However, black steel railings secure the space.
To conclude, several In-Lite outdoor lighting devices brighten up the veranda in the evening. We can particularly notice the Halo-Down, positioned outside near the two doors. Also, we find these same devices on the top of the columns inside the veranda. Finally, to increase the comfort of guests during meals, two Disc Pendant lights illuminate the dining room table.
