This client, with whom we had already worked on the construction of her swimming pool patio, asked us for a second design mandate. This time, she wanted to have a wooden gazebo in her backyard to hide the new condos that would be built out back. In addition, this space had to accommodate a dining area and a lounge sheltered from the view of its new neighbors. This is why we opted for a gazebo with a slope, towards the back of the land.
This gazebo is made of planed white pine timberframe. Stain colors are chosen to match the adjacent pool patio. They are Chesapeake, Espresso and Black Onyx. The metal roof completes the structure to protect the occupants from the sun and rain. At the rear of this, a full height and full width privacy wall hides the neighbors.
To punctuate the areas, interesting visual elements decorate the wall at the back. On the lounge side, an aluminum cutout, mounted in a wooden frame, serves as a picture on the wall. This is the black Hexx model from Hideaway. Additionally, in the evening, In-Lite Evo Hyde 550 lighting fixtures backlight the cutout. Then, in the dining area, three built-in alcoves allow you to place decorative elements. A Hyve 22 light illuminates each of them from above to highlight them.
Finally, above each area, there is a Disc Pendant pendant light. The front columns of the gazebo have Ace-Downs positioned at the top to illuminate the paved path on the ground as well as the decorative planters. We can therefore say that this layout is as spectacular and friendly during the day as it is in the evening!
