For this project, the clients asked us to design a new lounge shed for them. They told us that they also wanted a gazebo to create a covered space to enjoy the lounge area sheltered from the sun and rain. We had to position it between two mature trees, which limited the configuration possibilities. However, we were able to maximize the available space to create a beautiful, functional layout without compromising the look.
To do this, we chose to continue the existing floor on the same level to create the lounge area and the shed floor. Access to storage is made easier thanks to the ramp that we have positioned in front of the door. It is located on the side, thus leaving us all the space available on the front of the terrace.
We made the structure of the lounge shed in natural hemlock timberframe. We covered the exterior walls in greige vinyl and the roof matches that of the house. It only has one slope. This allows us to arrange the lounge area while maintaining sufficient clearance for the ceiling finished in paneling. This space is large enough to accommodate a sectional sofa in addition to an armchair and two small stools for the children. We also replaced the existing patio railings for the Heritage Aluminum Distinction model. We chose them in black in order to modernize the terrace and match them to the new elements.
