The custom design we created for this client first consisted of creating a gazebo with storage. Additionally, he wanted the look to be simple and modern. It was to accommodate a dining room and a lounge area sheltered from the sun, rain and mosquitoes. The gazebo would be at the back of the courtyard and the storage had to be discreet and well hidden.

So we designed a single-slope gazebo to give the desired modern look. It is made of planed white pine dyed in two contrasting tones, Espresso and Black Onyx from Sansin. The storage on the side is accessible from outside the gazebo. It is not visible from the living area inside the gazebo, nor from the house. A full-size metal door that rolls upwards provides unhindered access to the entire space. Shelves and hooks serve as supports for storing equipment in this space.

Then, the decking wall at the back of the storage also serves as a wall behind the lounge. A second wall closes the space at the back. It is made of thin, gray natural stones, which creates a beautiful combination of colors and materials to achieve the desired modern look. Shelves in black-stained wood adorn this wall, while a trio of lights illuminate the stone wall to highlight its raw relief. These are the In-Lite Ace Up-Down devices which have a bi-directional upward and downward light output.
