Our story
A picture is worth a thousand words, so imagine a video! Here is the summary of our journey as a company specializing in the design and construction of outdoor structures, since 2011.
Louis Philippe Lord
Geppeto / Founding Co-Owner / 2011
Louis Philippe, or LP for his friends, is the owner, the boss, the director, the president, call him what you want, but he is "The Boss" . He founded Pur Patio and he is proud of it! It is a little, a lot, thanks to him that we have a dream job and that we have the chance every day to build the most beautiful patios in Quebec . His passion for winter sports has pushed him to create a company where one can decree " Law 10 " without any stress. For those who do not know, this internal law formally stipulates that when 10 cm of snow has fallen, all employees can take a day off to enjoy the joys of winter. Admit that we have already seen worse as a boss!
His personal beliefs are the basis of the company's values. All the green side of Pur Patio : recycling, use of ecological materials, carpooling, planting trees, comes largely from his will and his initiatives. The only thing he has not yet integrated into the company is to have the Green Giant among our employees.
Under his completely ordinary appearance hides extraordinary assets. LP is indeed the one who has the best analytical mind to carry out outdoor development projects , from design to construction. From the first meeting with him, you will discover a very friendly and very approachable man.
Even though he sometimes works from the office, it must be said that we try not to do so too often. Let's just say that it's not what he prefers and, when he thinks too much, the premises smell like something is burning. In any case, he is definitely an asset on construction sites and, what's more, it's good for his morale to be moving. Since he knows the plans for each project by heart, he always keeps a good overview of the different stages of construction and thus helps his team a lot. With Louis Philippe, we are truly assured that all projects are in good hands.
Valerie Dufour
The Magician / Co-owner / 2017
Valerie is "The Boss" . We could even say that she is the boss of the boss , since she is involved everywhere! Val is the software pro and above all our technical support par excellence !
A problem? Just ask Val and poof! No problem! It is often said that she has a degree in magic from Hogwarts and that it is her little secret.
Actually, his degree doesn't come from Hogwarts since they don't teach marketing there and that's his real specialty. After a long and successful career At Proprio Direct , she couldn't resist her partner's charm and came to join the company as co-owner and "handywoman" . It's hard to clearly define Valérie's list of tasks because there are so many. But, in the end, it's also thanks to her that we can enjoy a dream job at Pur Patio . Val's days are always busy and she really puts her heart into every project!
Whether with her partner, employees or clients, Valérie is always attentive to the needs of others. We could say that she has mastered empathy to perfection. She understands and analyzes differently, which brings a new perspective to many situations. And, let's face it, a female presence in a company mainly composed of men adds the perfect balance!
Always in search of personal and professional improvement, Valérie multiplies her efforts to inspire herself and by the same token, inspire us. She has the gift of making us surpass ourselves and make ourselves better . Be careful, this quality can be addictive. Be well advised before meeting her, but take the risk anyway, you will not be disappointed!
Alexandra-Stephanie Foucher
The beautiful beast / Designer & illustrator / 2018
Alexandra or Stephanie, we never really know what to call her. After ruling out the option of calling her "hyphenate" , we decided to analyze her. We finally found a unique personality that deserves to be discovered.
Having a very good command of the French language, both orally and in writing, we quickly see that this is reflected in her unrivaled sense of humor and repartee. This quickly led to many verbal ping-pong matches with her colleagues. She never misses an opportunity!
By getting to know her, we had the opportunity to discover her logical and very technical side, combining perfectly with the creative designer overflowing with ideas in her. Passionate about design, she completed two degrees in the field. To finally come and work with us inoutdoor design . We like to joke that she wanted to get some fresh air after all these studies. In fact, the truth is rather that she is keen to never miss an opportunity to jump into the unknown and to trust what life has in store for her. Her ambition and determination are two key qualities that pushed us to hire her and we were not wrong!
Having also worked in the field of visual presentation, we are certain that what we create is always beautiful. Curious by nature, she has developed a multitude of processes in our design department in order to work ever more efficiently. Even if, initially, she does not like software changes and having to relearn everything, she quickly becomes a beast if we motivate her a little. We will always be impressed by her technical abilities and her rapid learning . In the end, Steph (as we finally chose to call her here) is like G-Tape (those in the know know 😉). It’s a little asset that really is useful for everything, and which we couldn’t do without!
