The owner of this new house in Prévost in the Laurentians purchased this treated wood patio “kit” from L'Écuyer & L'Écuyer. See for yourself the deformation of the floor after just 1 winter. The structure of this treated wood patio simply could not support the weight of the snow. The patio was therefore completely dismantled to make way for a new cedar patio-pool. We of course reused the structural elements that were recoverable. The new designer patio was developed by the owner in collaboration with Louis Philippe from PurPatio. The new wooden terrace is supported by galvanized steel screw piles. The structure of the patio was designed to withstand the snow accumulations that we experience every winter.
Customers and their 3 children will now be able to enjoy a large, secure and intimate patio. A large dining area is provided near the door of the house. This part of the patio is protected from prying eyes by pretty adjustable western red cedar screens. The beautiful wooden staircase leads to a transition area that provides access to the pool on one side and the backyard on the other. An automatically closing door protects and secures access to the swimming pool. Guardrails with a height of 48 inches have been constructed to keep children at a safe distance from the pool.
In order to store all the three children's sports equipment, a waterproof shed was built under the patio. The Rain Escape system from the Trex company was used to waterproof the shed.
