This Montreal client has a backyard very close to her neighbors. She therefore wanted more privacy with her new landscaping. The design we decided to create is a new composite deck with a pergola, all surrounded by wooden privacy walls.
First, the large deck is constructed from Timbertech composite decking, a material that requires no maintenance. Just outside the house, you'll find a bar area, complete with a barbecue. This space is the perfect spot to prepare a delicious meal while enjoying a drink and conversation. On the same level, we've also created a dining area that can comfortably seat about ten people around the table. This section of the composite deck is sheltered from both sun and rain, thanks to a pergola with a retractable canopy that has been added over the dining area.
Finally, the last section of the composite deck is the cozy fire pit area. It's the perfect spot to end the evening outdoors around a fire, thanks to the L-shaped sectional sofa. The deck features different levels, and the steps leading from one to the next are illuminated by small lights recessed into the risers. This makes the stairs safer in the dark, while also adding style to the deck. This composite deck design with a pergola is therefore accessible and comfortable at any time of day!
