This chalet in the Estérel region boasts a stunning view of the lake. That's why the owners commissioned us to design a raised terrace for them. They wanted to be able to enjoy the outdoors while taking in the beautiful surrounding natural landscape.
We designed a patio on the first floor, supported by natural American yellow pine columns. It runs along the entire back of the house. We chose composite decking to minimize maintenance, given its large size. Accent boards on the floor delineate the different areas. The dining area and barbecue are located near the kitchen. It comfortably seats 6 to 8 people.
Next, in front of the large central windows, we placed Adirondack chairs to admire the view. The final section at the end is located in front of the master bedroom and serves as the relaxation area. With its sofa, it's the perfect spot to settle in and read in peace. Glass railings secure the terrace while maintaining an unobstructed view of the lake. These are the Murano model from Aluminium Distinction. The other sides, as well as the stairs, have standard baluster railings. The descent is in two sections with a landing in between. This allows the stairs to lead down to the backyard without encroaching too far into the yard.
Finally, beneath the patio, a gravel walkway on the right side of the house allows access from the front to the back. We also moved the staircase to open up the view of the lake from the walkway on the side.
