We designed this high-end outdoor space in two distinct sections. One is at the level of the house, and the other is lower, at the level of the pool. The primary goal was to create a terrace that would unify the house's exterior spaces. It also needed to include a barbecue area, an outdoor dining area, and a lounge area with a fireplace. Given the large size of the space, we created all these zones using Trex composite decking in Havana Gold. This material is maintenance-free.
We positioned the barbecue on a small platform near the kitchen exit. We secured it with a Sansin Onyx Black stained cedar railing. A little further back, at the rear of the house, is the lounge area, which comfortably accommodates four armchairs around a fire pit. We covered it with a custom-made, modern-style hybrid pergola made of aluminum and wood.
The outdoor dining area is located near the patio doors at the far end of the house. We designed its size so that the existing awning could completely cover the area. It houses a table seating eight and a bar counter with seating for four. These structures are custom-built from black-stained cedar. We secured all these spaces with Pure glass railings from Aluminium Distinction, which allow for an unobstructed view of the pool and the lake beyond.
Finally, the section of the outdoor space near the pool is paved. We've placed a sofa, lounge chairs, and a unique bar with a custom-built pergola there. The L-shaped bar has two levels: a high counter where guests can enjoy their drinks while seated on stools, and a lower counter for preparing beverages. We've installed a sink and storage underneath, as well as a small refrigerator. It's fully equipped and designed to accommodate guests without the worry of running back and forth to the house because something is missing. The pergola allows us to enjoy the space while limiting sun exposure. We built the entire structure from composite and cedar in the same colors as the other section of the outdoor area to create a unified look.
