This client commissioned us to design a custom patio for their backyard in Montreal. They wanted a patio that could accommodate a dining area, a lounge with a fireplace, and a spa space. It was essential that this space be as private as possible, given the numerous high-rise and nearby neighbors. We therefore designed an Azek deck from the Vintage collection in Coastline color at ground level. It's large enough to accommodate all the elements.

First, it's a PVC patio, so it requires no maintenance. We also designed custom PVC furniture: a large bar-height table and a corner bench for the fire pit area. They're finished in Weathered Teak, which perfectly complements the decking. The hot tub is positioned near the patio door on the left for easy access year-round. On the right, a 6-foot-high privacy wall encloses the entire side. It's made of Western Red Cedar with a natural stain.

Next, we placed the barbecue area near the house's entrance. An alcove in the wall complements the space, adding a shelf. The adjacent PVC table makes preparing and serving meals much easier. Above the barbecue, dining, and spa areas, a long hemlock pergola provides privacy. Its rustic style, with exposed iron angles and a weathering gray patina, enhances the overall look. Climbing plants will partially cover it, creating even more privacy in this enveloping haven. String lights will add a touch of magic to the evenings.

Finally, black galvanized steel cutouts with abstract patterns adorn the fire pit. Arranged on the privacy wall to form a triptych, they create a beautiful and distinctive decorative element. The result is an intimate and stylish space, ideal for moments with family or friends.
