We developed this dream terrace concept perched atop a Laurentian peak to meet the homeowners' needs. We wanted to design an outdoor space reminiscent of the luxury all-inclusive resorts of the popular southern islands. They envisioned an outdoor living area divided into three sections to fully enjoy their infinity pool. This location offers one of the most beautiful views in the region, overlooking the neighboring town of Sainte-Adèle.

We needed to build a large patio area, so we opted for Trex composite decking. The color we chose is Spiced Rum from the Transcend Tropical line. This material is maintenance-free, yet it provides the look and warmth of real wood. We built a single-level deck and added a common structure to connect the three sections we needed to create.

The first area is covered by a pergola, allowing its occupants to partially shade themselves from the sun while relaxing on lounge chairs. The second area features an outdoor daybed and is covered by a gazebo, providing complete protection from both sun and rain. The final area houses the dining space in a veranda, ensuring its occupants are sheltered from the sun, rain, and mosquitoes. We fitted the structure with half-height screens made of horizontal slats of stained Select cedar, matching the rest of the design.

All the Select cedar components are cut, sanded, and stained in two tones—Espresso and Sansin Onyx Black—by our carpenters in our workshop to guarantee the durability of the work, which is carried out under optimal conditions. In addition, the patio skirting is also made of stained cedar, providing an impeccable finish to this high-end, mountain-side patio.
