The aim of this modern outdoor design was to make the in-ground pool a central and inviting focal point in the yard. That's why the different sections surround it, each offering a view of the water.
First, there's a concrete patio just outside the house. A cedar pergola covers it and shelters a small lounge area. Toja Solo and Trio 6x6 planed fasteners secure the wooden beams and columns. A retractable shade sail allows the occupants to protect themselves from the sun if desired. The composite skirting also conceals storage space.
The main and most spectacular feature in the yard is undoubtedly the immense hybrid structure, composed of a large gazebo and a pergola section. It offers several distinct areas, allowing everyone to gather in one place. It comprises four sections: an outdoor kitchen, a dining area, a lounge, and a sunbathing area. It is custom-built using Western Red Cedar timber framing. The chosen stain colors are Espresso and Onyx Black by Sansin.
Furthermore, the varied privacy walls limit the view from rear and side neighbors. These walls are made of solid cedar planks, openwork cedar strips, black aluminum trim (Oasis Palm model), or artificial plants. Their differences offer a unique and defined look to each section, without making occupants feel confined. Thoughtful details are essential for everything to work together. Examples include the modular kitchen with Veradek aluminum and stainless steel countertops, and the integrated composite banquette that saves space.
Finally, on the other side of the pool, you'll find the modern-style cabana. Right next to it, a paved patio serves as a relaxation area after swimming. A privacy wall limits the view and noise from the pool equipment located behind it. It's constructed with Hoft aluminum posts and Sansin Espresso-stained cedar planks. Hoft hooks are added for drying towels. The central aluminum cutout, identical to those on the gazebo, echoes the main structure. Multiple In-Lite outdoor lights (Puck, Ace Up-Down, Liv Low, Wedge, Evo Hyde 180, Mini-Scope ceiling, and Flux) illuminate the various features and walkways in the yard, creating a beautiful setting both day and night!
