A6 end post in black aluminum - PurPatio
Western Red Cedar 5/4"x6"

These clients' backyard offered a beautiful view of the lake. Their initial desire was to fully enjoy this view with a completely redesigned layout. This included a patio with a dining area on the first level, as well as a veranda and pergola for a lounge and spa area on the ground floor. The goal of the project was to create a cohesive and harmonious design. Furthermore, the design had to complement the existing property while respecting the shoreline buffer zone.

To begin, we first designed a Trex Enhance Natural composite patio on the first level. It's in Rocky Harbor and Coastal Bluff colors. We installed a privacy wall made of Sansin Onyx Black stained Western Red Cedar, mounted on aluminum posts, to shield it from the neighbors' view. Galvanized steel cutouts with openwork geometric patterns add dynamism to the wall's style. Black Murano railings from Aluminium Distinction secure the other sides of the patio. The combination of aluminum and glass opens up the view toward the lake, allowing for an unobstructed panorama.

Next, the spa is located under a hybrid pergola attached directly from the patio floor. It's made of composite decking and Western Red Cedar. We chose to replicate the privacy wall above to maintain the area's privacy by enclosing it on the side. Additionally, beneath the patio, the veranda is built on a paved section. It's constructed of Sansin Onyx Black stained Western Red Cedar. Fixed screens cover all the openings and are mounted in stained wood frames.

At the far end, we designed a full wall, made of cedar alcoves, that mimics the pattern of the cutouts to create a visual connection. It also serves as a practical display surface for decorative items in the lounge area. Finally, paving slabs lead from the new layout to the fire pit and the existing shed, thus connecting all the elements.
