We completed this custom patio and veranda project in collaboration with Danie Savoie of Hodgins and Associates. It was a complete redesign of the outdoor space, in which we participated to create a low-maintenance patio. The clients also wanted a veranda that would protect them from the sun, rain, and mosquitoes. Maintaining an unobstructed view of the entire yard was also essential.

We used Trex's Transcend Tropical range in Spiced Rum and Havana Gold composite colors. This material allowed us to design a deck with integrated furniture. We incorporated a bench with a planter box, counters with storage near the barbecue to maximize the food preparation and serving area, and a bar facing the pool for sitting and enjoying a drink while taking in the view. These elements all serve as railings. They also optimize the use of space and circulation areas. The railing on the pool side is also made of composite. However, we integrated glass panels to offer a beautiful view of the yard and thus enhance the feeling of open space.

For the staircase, we opted for black Murano railings from Aluminium Distinction to meet safety standards. They offer a beautiful blend of aluminum and glass, perfectly complementing the overall design. The Western Red Cedar sunroom is ideal for creating a dining area that seats six. Accessible directly from inside the house, it's a room the homeowners can enjoy regardless of the weather. Beneath the patio and sunroom, we installed weatherproof storage to maximize its usability. We also chose to add a cantilevered composite bench at the base of the patio to create seating by the pool.
