Western Red Cedar 5/4"x6"

This client had a newly built, two-level concrete patio. He wanted us to completely renovate it. Our mandate was to integrate features that would allow him to enjoy the outdoors in complete privacy and shade if he wished.

We then dedicated the landing at the patio door level to the dining area. That's why we placed the barbecue and a table there. This area comfortably seats 6 to 8 people. We designed a pergola using Western Red Cedar. We stained it Onyx Black and Sansin Espresso. It covers the entire level. It has a horizontal wooden privacy wall on the side facing the neighbors. Planters adorn the wall to create a warm and natural ambiance.

We fitted the pergola with a retractable shade sail, allowing its occupants to protect themselves from the sun as they wish. Safety on the other sides is ensured by black railings from Aluminium Distinction. We installed a mix of Standard and Murano railings on the side facing the courtyard to maintain the view. In addition, we added a black-stained cedar skirt to create storage space under the landing.

At ground level, we've created a space for the spa. It has a pergola similar to the one in the dining area to ensure continuity in the design. This one doesn't have a canopy. However, we plan for climbing plants to provide privacy and shelter for its users. It includes a wooden bar on one side, allowing people to enjoy a drink in the spa alongside those who prefer not to soak! Furthermore, the space is large enough to incorporate a relaxation area, so we've added two lounge chairs near the spa.
