This immense project of modernization and complete reconstruction of several terraces around a chalet was entrusted to us with the aim of redoing the existing infrastructure so that it would harmonize with the renovations that had recently been carried out on the house.

The shape and division of the spaces needed to be similar. However, the clients no longer wanted to maintain their multiple levels. Therefore, we chose to work with Trex composite decking in Spiced Rum and Havana Gold from the Transcend Tropical line. These colors perfectly complement the chalet's new siding. We built three composite landings to break up the long series of steps leading to the paved terrace on the first level. Brown railings from the standard Aluminium Distinction model provide safety on the stairs. This color creates a blend of warm tones that will be repeated throughout the rest of the design. The goal is to ensure continuity and visual coherence, given the project's scale.

On the first level, we designed a cedar timber frame to support the second-level composite deck. This deck includes a fully equipped outdoor kitchen area with a barbecue, smoker, cooktop, sink, and built-in countertop storage, as well as a lounge area with dining furniture seating six to eight people, plus Adirondack chairs arranged to take in the breathtaking view overlooking the lake. The railing we chose for this area is the Murano model, as it features glass panels. These panels ensure the deck is safe while maintaining an unobstructed view of the surrounding panorama.

Two levels higher, we find the pool area, worthy of a luxury all-inclusive resort. It's also made of composite decking and surrounded by a combination of the two railing designs. We positioned them to maximize the views. It's spacious enough to accommodate a section with a sofa and armchairs for relaxation. In addition, there's another section with lounge chairs for soaking up the sun. Finally, we built a fully equipped bar in the corner. It seats four people and includes a refrigerator, a sink, and storage.

A truly unique pergola enhances the bar. We built it with a structure of 8"x8" Western Red Cedar beams and columns. Furthermore, we designed it with a cantilevered section over the pool, creating a partially shaded area. The column, attached to the structure by a beam positioned slightly further away, frames the splendid natural landscape that unfolds before us from this vantage point.
