Our mandate was to create a simple patio despite the unusual shape of the corner of the house where the patio door was located. The client wanted to be able to enjoy her coffee outside and relax while taking in the surrounding nature. One of her most important criteria was that the patio be maintenance-free. She also wanted integrated storage space.
We therefore designed a Trex composite patio for her, using the Transcend and Transcend Tropical lines. We opted for a combination of Rope Swing and Havana Gold colors, which blend beautifully with the colors of the house. Furthermore, we chose to maintain a relatively square shape, which integrates well with the irregular corner of the house. The patio space allows for a table and chairs, a relaxation area, and a swing without feeling cramped.
To maximize the space under the patio, we added storage behind the composite skirting. The steps are wide to open up the view to the backyard. Furthermore, the risers have integrated lights, adding a beautiful detail to the design and creating ambiance in the evening. To frame the perimeter of the patio, we opted for aluminum railings from Aluminium Distinction's Heritage model. This model features a lovely detail at the top of the railing, and with its clay color and wood-look handrail, it has the perfect look.
