The custom design we created for these clients aimed to fulfill all their needs. We had to place all the necessary living areas on a multi-level Trex patio. So the concept we developed is on three levels, leading down to the paved area of the in-ground pool.
First, the ground floor features a dining area for 6 to 8 people, as well as a lounge area. It's perfect for gatherings with family or friends. A large gazebo, purchased by the guests, provides shelter from the rain and sun. We've set up the barbecue and relaxation area on the second floor. A lounge chair at the end of the patio faces the pool, allowing guests to soak up the sun and easily supervise children swimming in it.
The barbecue is located under a hemlock gazebo, which spans two levels: this one and the one below. It's designed to create a transitional space between the house and the pool. People can leave their towels and other belongings there. Additionally, a composite bar counter sits between the two levels, creating a pleasant space for enjoying drinks and snacks while waiting for dinner. We chose Trex Tropical for the patio, in Havana Gold and Spiced Rum. It's a durable, maintenance-free material.
Next, the skirt under the patio allowed us to conceal storage, accessible through double doors. It's made of Sansin Onyx Black stained Western Red Cedar. Privacy walls, also in cedar of the same color, line the front side of the patio. At the back, railings secure the space while maintaining an open view. They are made of black aluminum and glass and are the Murano model from Aluminium Distinction. Finally, lights adorn the risers, creating a beautiful ambiance in the evening.
