This dreamy multi-level terrace is the ultimate complete outdoor living area. We designed it to create distinct zones for the different sections requested by the client: dining room, lounge, spa, barbecue and fire pit.
Given its large surface area, the owner wanted it to be maintenance-free. We therefore chose to put it in Trex composite. In order to match the new outdoor living area with the house and the existing paving, we opted for a mix of two colors. We finally chose Gravelpath from the Transcend Classic range and Spiced Rum from the Transcend Tropical range.
We have created a first landing at the height of the patio door which will be the dining area. It is also large enough to accommodate a table that can seat 8 people. It is covered with a Western red cedar pergola stained with two colors, Espresso and Black Onyx from Sansin. The latter is equipped with a retractable sail which then allows the occupants to protect themselves from the sun or the rain if they wish. In addition, this level includes two accesses to other levels as well as direct access to the spa. We surrounded the rest of the perimeter with black Murano railings from Aluminum Distinction which offers good visibility thanks to its integrated windows.
The staircase on the right leads to a paved terrace specially designed for cooking. It offers sufficient clearance to maintain light at the basement windows. In the center there is a barbecue and a smokehouse. On one side, we designed a custom counter to facilitate meal preparation and on the other a bar, also custom-made. Finally, with the height of the paved landing, the bar has a dual function since it has a counter height when you are on the landing and a bar height when you are at ground level.
