We were given the mandate to build an intimate terrace for this semi-detached house in the heart of Montreal. Being really tired of maintaining their wooden patio, the owners now wanted to have a private space where they could relax and enjoy the beautiful summer days, without having to worry about maintenance. So we designed a two-level terrace for them. It is made of Trex composite, Transcend Tropical series in Spiced Rum color.
The barbecue is positioned on the first landing, near the door of the house and the kitchen. Between the two landings, a herb box is integrated into the design. This allows you to cook with fresh herbs while creating a boundary that is as aesthetic as it is practical. It’s a beautiful detail that enhances the look of the layout. A relaxation section is located on the bottom landing. It is large enough to make several furniture arrangements and evolve over time according to the needs of the owners. In addition, a large corner step provides access to the entire plot, where the dining section is located on a paved area.
Western red cedar privacy walls are mounted on black aluminum posts. They provide the privacy sought by the occupants. In addition, a small storage space in the skirt, accessible from the side of the patio, offers discreet storage space. Finally, the layout of this Trex composite patio really opens up the space to the backyard. Lights added to the risers provide a pleasant ambiance in the evening.
