The design of this hybrid multi-level patio project perfectly integrates a multi-functional outdoor living space. We designed a stylish outdoor pavilion, accessible to the owners year-round.
A screened-in porch with sliding glass doors forms the first level, protecting its occupants from the sun, rain, and mosquitoes. We created an entertainment area that includes a hot tub, two bars, and a sectional sofa facing the backyard. We combined the exposed Western Red Cedar timber frame with composite decking. We chose the Island Mist color from Trex's Transcend Tropical line. This color sets the tone for the rustic decor with a touch of modern boldness.
The woodwork behind the main bar was designed to conceal the door, giving the impression that it was an integral part of the wall. We also created custom shelves and alcoves in the wall to add storage and create a visual connection with the flooring and bars. This complete pavilion has direct access from the house and features recessed lighting and heating to ensure comfort regardless of the weather. The upper deck is accessible from the house and also via a staircase leading directly from the lower deck.
Under the stairs, we created a small playhouse for children. This maximizes all the available space and, at the same time, provides younger children with a unique and safe private area to play in. The stairs are made of two-tone Trex composite. We chose Island Mist and Havana Gold from the Transcend Tropical range. In addition, railings made of a blend of glass and wood secure the patio and unify the rustic and modern style of the project.
Finally, the upper patio area is designed to accommodate a barbecue with a custom-made composite countertop for easy meal preparation and serving. It can also accommodate dining furniture for at least six people thanks to the custom-made composite bench. We've installed a lounge area with a built-in bench integrated into the railings, also custom-made in composite. The integrated furniture is weather-resistant and very sturdy and durable. All these elements make this space incredibly versatile. It's truly a dream setup for fully enjoying outdoor living in all weather conditions.
